meet ZOEY

Zoey’s Christmas Angels was created from the deepest heartbreak I have ever known—the loss of my beautiful niece, Zoey Daggett. On July 4, 2018, at just five years old, Zoey lost her courageous battle with DIPG, an aggressive pediatric brain tumor. While cancer took her far too soon, it could never take away the love, kindness, and joy she gave so freely to everyone she met.

Zoey was pure light. She had a smile that could brighten the darkest room, a heart that loved without limits, and a compassion that was extraordinary for someone so young. Even during her own fight, she worried about other children. She wanted everyone to feel included, happy, and loved. She taught us that kindness doesn’t require grand gestures—it simply requires a willing heart.

When we lost Zoey, our family lost a piece of ourselves. The silence she left behind was overwhelming, and the grief was something words could never truly describe. I knew I couldn’t change what had happened, but I also knew I couldn’t let her story end there. I needed to find a way to keep her love alive.

That is why I created Zoey’s Christmas Angels.

What began as a way to honor one little girl has become a mission to carry her heart into the lives of others. Every Christmas gift we deliver, every holiday meal we provide, every child who smiles because someone remembered them, and every family who feels hope during a difficult season is a reflection of Zoey’s spirit.

Christmas can be one of the most beautiful times of the year, but it can also be one of the hardest for families who are struggling. No parent should have to choose between paying their bills and putting presents under the tree. No child should wake up on Christmas morning feeling forgotten. Through Zoey’s Christmas Angels, we remind families that they are seen, valued, and loved.

This organization has never been about gifts alone. It’s about restoring hope. It’s about showing compassion. It’s about bringing a little light into someone’s darkest season—the same light Zoey brought into every life she touched.

People often ask me how I continue doing this year after year. The answer is simple: because love doesn’t end when someone dies. Love lives on through the lives we touch, the kindness we share, and the memories we choose to carry forward.

Zoey may no longer be here for us to hold, but she is present in every act of generosity, every volunteer who gives their time, every sponsor who believes in our mission, and every child who experiences the joy of Christmas because of this organization.

Zoey’s Christmas Angels is her legacy. It is proof that one little girl, with the biggest heart, continues to change lives years after she left this world. As long as there are children who need hope, kindness, and love, Zoey’s light will never stop shining.
