Call In To 98.8 The Buzz
(0:00) Hi, my name is Julie, and I am calling to share a happy retirement wish to Scott.
(1:30) That's so nice of you, Julie. That's so cool of you.
(1:32) It's a great memory, and we even talked about it at all of our reunions we've had since.
(1:37) Really?
(1:37) It was a great memory for all.
(1:39) Oh man.
(1:40) Well, now you've got to DJ one of their reunions, Scott.
(1:42) I'll be free.
(1:44) You've got plenty of time on your hands.
(1:49) That's awesome.
(1:50) And before I go, can I just put in a quick plug for my Christmas program. I run In Memory of My Niece Zoe Who Passed Away of a Brain Tumor.
(1:59) Okay, wait a minute. Is this Julie Bennett?
(2:02) Yes, this is Julie Bennett.
(2:04) Why didn't you say it was you? You're Zoe's Christmas angels, I know.
(2:07) Yeah, we've helped you out before.
(2:10) I created this program In Memory of My Niece Zoe Who Passed Away at Age 5 of a Brain Tumor. The prognosis for this terrible cancer is normally 6 to 9 months. Because we found it early, we were able to get one day short of two years with Zoe before she passed. So here I am, 8 years later, continuing this mission because my greatest fear is her memory and her name will be forgotten, and I refuse to allow that to happen.
(2:37) Now what do you do for other kiddos?
(2:39) Anybody needing help or in a situation where a family can otherwise not provide Christmas for their children due to whatever situation they're in or financial challenge, we vet them, make sure this is all legit, and we try to provide them the Christmas that they deserve. No child, especially leaving some of these situations, and when I say they're horrific, they're horrific.
(3:05) I'm sure.
(3:06) I want to give them one day of joy. Christmas comes to everybody, and I have a lot of participants that only want to help the younger children. Those children get taken right away. It's my teens that are on the list.
(3:16) Like an Amazon wish list, right?
(3:18) I have a website. It's called Zoe'sChristmasAngels.com. No spaces.
(3:23) How many kids do we have to take care of and we just go right to Zoe's Christmas Angels?
(3:27) In the year 2026, we will have helped our 1,000th child.
(3:32) Wow!
(3:33) Zoe would have been 14 on Saturday. My goal was to have 90% of this list taken care of, and unfortunately, due to the overwhelming demand and need this year, we're not close. The action item is, go to Zoe'sChristmasAngels.com and just pop one of those gifts from the gift list, from the Amazon wish list. Yes, scroll to the bottom. You can see who we're helping, why we're helping, my mission. Anything I can do to help these children, give them at least one day of normalcy in their life, is what I feel compelled to do.
(4:04) Julie, you're an angel yourself.
(4:06) We love it.
(4:07) We really appreciate that.
(4:08) We're definitely part of the Buzz fam.
(4:09) I appreciate you all.
(4:10) All right, let's do this.
(4:11) Let's go.
(4:11) The best station in Rochester.
(4:13) I'm singing in the car. Kids are in the mood to have fun.
(4:15) Isn't it like the best Friday?
(4:16) Turn it.
(4:17) Party time!
(4:19) Let's sing!
(4:21) Okay, now you've got a big heart.
(4:23) You're going to go to Zoe'sChristmasAngels.com and make a memory.
(4:27) Please help out.
(4:28) And Julie, thank you for bringing this to attention again. We're so happy to get this relayed out on the radio for you.
(4:33) Thank you so much.
(4:35) You're welcome.
(4:36) Okay, let's do this, Sandy.
(4:38) It's time to kick off the weekend!
(4:42) Yay!
